The Formula Renault Northern European Cup (NEC) The Formula Renault 2.0 litres Northern European Cup is foremost a racing series for young talented drivers. Its aim is to provide a professional platform for talented drivers to gain experience and skills in Formula Cars in order to grow to higher classes such as Formula 2 and 3, GP2 and eventually Formula 1. The team, consisting of MdH Consultants AG and Renault Sport Germany, runs the series, originated by a merge between the Dutch and German Formula Renault 2.0 litre. Over the following years, the Cup and its territory expanded, which lead to 16 races spread over renowned tracks in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Scandinavia and the Czech Republic.
